After years of purification and reinvention, 'Purgatorial Awakening' symbolises the destruction of runic order as it is understood as stagnant construction; while the old world is burned away, a new one rises from the ashes. And so has Pantheon of Blood gone through similar process in order to discover the aural identity: at times remembering its musical roots from Finnish Black Metal and other times expanding the variation of sound into fresh regions with measurements that are inspired by the old works of Hellenic Black Metal.

Outstanding! This is the word to describe not only "Strävan", but Murg, as a proficient, unique swedish duo. Their ability to craft ferocious hymns, unsophisticated but with plenty of variety and melodic settings is truly impressive. This is an album that stayed with me over the years and I am sure I will keep it close for many years to come. And after hearing it hundreds of times, it still gives me the chills. Timeless, greatly atmospheric and catchy, this is, beyond doubt, a masterpiece!
